Between spending summers running wild in Jamaica and her childhood in Florida, Dr. East has always had animals in her life (whether her family wanted her to or not!). With the ultimate goal of being a veterinarian she worked in several hospitals with small animals (cats, dogs) as well as with exotics (birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, etc.).

Her undergraduate degree was obtained at the University of Miami and she went on to study veterinary care at the University of Florida. After spending most of her life in Florida, the idea of seasons became attractive and she moved to NYC to perform an internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists. Since then she has found her home away from home (which is full of cats!) at Riverside Animal Hospitals.
